Further guidance has now been released ( showing that the money is split between a catch-up premium and a national tutoring scheme.

The catch-up premium is funded on a per pupil basis at £240 per place based on high needs places for the 2020 to 2021 academic year (92) = £22,080

  •  A total of £140 per place across payments 1 and 2
  • - Payment 1 = £6,440 and payment 2 £6,440

As with all government funding, school leaders and governors must be able to account for how the money is being used. Therefore, the impact and spending strategy for this catch-up premium will be reviewed at every Governing body meeting throughout the 2020-2021 academic year.
