Welcome to the Creative Media department which is delivered by Mr Sutherland. All students on the respite programme will study Creative Media which is a combination of Art and Graphic design.
KEY STAGE 3 CURRICULUM
Students studying Creative Media in Key Stage 3 are introduced to a range of graphic media, techniques and processes, including both traditional and new technologies. Students will develop their creativity and ideas, and increase proficiency in their work. They will develop a critical understanding of artists, architects, and designers, expressing reasoned judgments that can inform their own work. The Key Stage 3 schemes of work are designed to allow students to experience how it feels to work like a designer in a professional industry. All students will have access to the most up to date equipment and software such as: Apple IMACs, IPads, Photoshop and ComicLife.
To ensure all students are challenged and make accelerated progress within the subject, regularly formative and summative assessment is used. Students work to a variety of tasks which receives regular verbal and written feedback (peer- and self-assessment).
